Outlast

Outlast

Outlast is Red Barrels' 2013 first-person horror without guns: reporter Miles Upshur films Mount Massive Asylum in Colorado with a camcorder that has night vision. Batteries drain while patients and Murkoff staff chase him through the halls. The plot unfolds via documents and tape. The Whistleblower DLC stays on the same grounds. The camcorder records whatever the hero sees, so the story reads as a draft report rather than a quest log. Buy the Steam / Xbox key if you want found-footage survival built on running, hiding and the glow of a lens.
